ABOUT ME

EXPERIENCE

FUTURE

I'm Sarah! I am Cherokee, Ethiopian and Italian. I graduated in 2015 from DePaul University with a double major in Broadcast Journalism and Public Relations/Advertising.

Currently, I am a professional soccer player for the Chicago Red Stars. I was chosen by Chicago with their second overall pick in the 2016 NWSL draft.

At DePaul, I led the team to a 2014 Big East Champion Women's Soccer Team as well as an undefeated regular season and a #9 national ranking. I was awarded with an All-Region First Team honor in 2014-15, the Most Oustanding Defensive Player in the Big East Tournament, as well as Big East First-Team. I also ran hurdles and sprints on the DePaul track and field team.

For the last year, I was a sideline reporter and digital correspondent for the Big East Network where I appeared on FS2 multiple times. I have had the opportunity to intern at two incredible sports broadcasting companies. The first, ESPN Radio 1000 for the Carmen and Jurko Show. The second, Campus Insiders under Silver Chalice Ventures. I was a Campus Correspondent for ESPNU. I also was a writer for SB Nation's Swish Appeal. I was  the Sports Anchor/Reporter for DePaul's news station, Good Day DePaul. I have taken all possible television news classes at DePaul.

As an athlete that has played aat the highest possible level, not only do I know sports, but I know the dedication, sacrifice, hardwork and emotion that goes into every single play, practice and moment on and off the field. Because of my experience I have the ability to relate to both the fans watching, and to the athletes playing.

My dream is to become a sideline reporter for college and professional basketball. But, because of my extensive background in sports, specifically soccer and track & field, I will excel at reporting for any sport. Eventually I want to host my own show. I have the athletic experience, the confidence, the communication skills and the creative writing abilities to excel. All it takes now is a start in the business.
